Bouncy Castle Setup Guide

Setting up a bouncy castle correctly is essential for both safety and performance. Whether you're preparing for a birthday party, school event or community celebration, following these simple steps will help ensure your inflatable is installed safely and ready for hours of fun.

This guide covers the basic setup process for a blower-powered inflatable. Always follow any additional instructions supplied with your specific unit.

Step 1: Choose and Prepare the Setup Area

Select a flat, level area that is large enough for both the inflatable and the required safety clearance around it.

  • Remove stones, branches, toys and any sharp objects.
  • Check for overhead hazards such as tree branches, cables or low roofs.
  • Ensure the surface is suitable for anchoring.
  • Position safety mats around all entrance and exit points.

Step 2: Position the Inflatable

Unroll the bouncy castle carefully and position it exactly where it will be used before connecting the blower.

  • Lay the inflatable flat.
  • Straighten out the inflation tube.
  • Ensure there is sufficient space around every side.

Step 3: Position the Blower

Place the blower directly beside the inflation tube.

  • Position it on a stable surface.
  • Keep it away from standing water.
  • Ensure the air intake remains unobstructed throughout use.

Step 4: Connect the Inflation Tube

Slide the inflation tube fully over the blower outlet.

  • Tighten the securing strap firmly.
  • Fasten the strap around the blower to prevent movement.
  • Check that the connection is airtight.

Step 5: Secure the Deflation Tube

Locate the deflation tube before switching the blower on.

  • Twist the tube closed.
  • Fasten it securely using the attached strap.
  • Ensure no air can escape during operation.

Step 6: Check the Inflation Tube

Before starting the blower, inspect the inflation tube.

  • Remove any twists or kinks.
  • Ensure the tube runs freely between the blower and inflatable.
  • Check that nothing is resting on the tube.

Step 7: Inflate the Bouncy Castle

Connect the blower to the electrical supply and switch it on.

  • The inflatable should begin to rise immediately.
  • Allow it to inflate fully.
  • Inspect the blower connection for air leaks.
  • Check the inflatable is standing correctly.

Step 8: Anchor the Inflatable

Once fully inflated, secure the inflatable using the correct anchoring method for the surface.

  • Drive ground stakes fully into suitable grass where applicable.
  • Use approved alternative anchoring methods on hard standing where appropriate.
  • Secure every anchor point provided by the manufacturer.
  • Never operate an inflatable that has not been correctly anchored.

Step 9: Complete Your Safety Checks

Before allowing anyone to use the inflatable, carry out a final inspection.

  • Confirm the blower is operating continuously.
  • Check all anchor points remain secure.
  • Ensure safety mats are correctly positioned.
  • Inspect the inflatable for signs of damage or excessive air loss.
  • Make sure the surrounding area remains clear.

Safe Operation

  • Always supervise children while the inflatable is in use.
  • Separate users into similar age and size groups where possible.
  • Do not exceed the maximum user capacity.
  • No shoes, sharp objects, food or drinks on the inflatable.
  • Keep the blower running at all times during use.
  • Do not operate the inflatable during unsuitable weather conditions or high winds.

Packing Away

When your event has finished:

  1. Ensure all users have left the inflatable.
  2. Switch off and disconnect the blower.
  3. Allow the castle to deflate naturally.
  4. Fold the inflatable neatly, removing as much air as possible.
  5. Store the blower and accessories safely for transport.
